If the ADSL Gateway goes down you need to do the following to rebuild the ADSL tunnel so you can then log in:
1) If your ADSL connection uses a BT Nat router, enter the IP address of 192.168.254.254 into your web browser which gets you to the BT connection screen. You then need to select disconnect, or change login depending what it is displaying. Then in the username field put bt_test@startup_domain which will resync the BT tunnel. Then you need to disconnect again and login with your username and password which will bring your connection back up. If this does not happen you will need to contact support on 01635 573320 who will then log a call with BT.
2) If your ADSL connection uses a BT NoNat router, enter the IP address of your default gateway into your web browser which gets you to the BT connection screen.
3) Self Install ADSL depending on what router or modem you are using you should be able to change login to bt_test@startup_domain from your telnet or gui screen via the web browser then try to connect and then reconnect with your username and password which will then connect you. If this does not happen you will need to speak to support who will then log the call with BT who will check the ADSL line.
As an alternative to the above you can also reset your connection by turning off your equipment for the time periods below:
15 minute turn off
If you turn off your ADSL router for 15 minutes this will force the equipment in your local BT exchange to reset. This can solve a number of 'sync' issues where an ADSL line is not coming up correctly.
30 minute turn off
If you turn off your ADSL router for 30 minutes both the local exchange equipment and any GRE tunnels through the BT network should be reset. This should resolve any corruption issues.
