To bypass DNS name resolution:
1. Create an SMTP Connector to the remote domain that you want to send messages to.
2. Open the SMTP connector properties, click the General tab, and then type the IP address of the remote SMTP server in the Smart Host box.
NOTE: Format the address so that it is enclosed in brackets, for example "[195.12.4.238]". You should use the SMTP server of the ISP your connection is with or you may get relaying denied errors. Our SMTP server is 195.12.4.238.
3. Stop the Microsoft Exchange Server Routing Engine Service and the SMTP service.
4. Restart both services.
5. Use the Winroute utility to check for changes to routes.
6. Send a test message to bounce@hiway.co.uk which returns back to you.
