We are experiencing problems with ADSL users trying to connect to our DSL platform our suppliers are investigating

ADSL customers experiencing Authentication issues. Its has been confirmed by our supplier it is an issue on the core router in the Sheffield area to be the cause of this issue. Any customers routing through the Sheffield core router will experience authentication issues.


Our upstream providers are working on it we would update the ticket shortly.

16:07 05/03/2010 Our suppliers have now confirmed which exchanges have been affected by this incident. They are HEMSWORTH, ROYSTON, WORKSOP, BARNSLEY, RETFORD, DINNINGTON, CUDWORTH, WAKEFIELD, SANDAL, PONTEFRACT, NORMANTON, SOUTH ELMSALL, WHITWELL, WADSLEY BRIDGE, BROOMHILL, ECCLESFIELD TELEPHONE EXCHANGE, ROTHERHAM, ATTERCLIFFE, WICKERSLEY, MEXBOROUGH, CONISBROUGH, SHEFFIELD TELEPHONE EXCHANGE, RANMOOR, HOYLAND, WOMBWELL, HIGH GREEN, OUGHTIBRIDGE TELEPHONE EXCHANGE, STOCKSBRIDGE TELEPONE EXCHANGE, CLAY CROSS, HOLMEWOOD, BOLSOVER, CHESTERFIELD, OLD WHITTINGTON, HOLYMOORSIDE, WATH UPON DEARNE, GOLDTHORPE, GLOSSOP, MOTTRAM, HOLMFIRTH, SKELMANTHORPE, PENISTONE, SILKSTONE, DARTON, WOODHOUSE, ASTON COMMON, INTAKE, SHARROW, DRONFIELD TELEPHONE EXCHANGE, GREENHILL, ECKINGTON, STAVELEY, MOSBOROUGH, KIVERTON TELEPHONE EXCHANGE and NORTH CARLTON. The engineers are continuing to investigate the root cause of this issue and further updates will be communicated throughout these investigations when available.

16:42 05/03/2010 The service is back UP again. Our suppliers are still investigating.

16:51 05/03/2010 A Core router failure was detected in Sheffield, engineers have performed a reload to that router and service has been restores for all affected customers. We anticipate all traffic will be restored within the next 15 minutes.


16:53 05/03/2010 Not affecting DSL service anymore. We will leave this ticket open while we monitor this situation.

11:30 08/03/2010 We have monitored these connections over the weekend and have seen no further issues.
